School and Team Instruction

Chess Scholars offers professional school chess instruction and team coaching at your site.

We always design our instruction to best fit the needs of the group and to ensure students’ fastest chess progress as well as their enjoyment of chess. Typically, we divide the time about equally between teaching and guided practice games. In some cases, we split up the group into two parts, when the students’ range of skills is too wide. Our instructors might also assign homework closely matching the classroom curriculum.

Chess Scholars' training program is based on our unique "Chess Belts" system with a gradual step-by-step increase in the difficulty of material. This system enables us to quickly teach children the rules of chess, enhance their understanding of the game, as well as take them to a higher chess skill level.

We encourage our school teams to play in tournaments, where they often win team and individual prizes.
